Learning a new instrument is always a fun idea, and especially since a lot of us have extra time because of Covid. I find that trying new things with friends is always extra fun, it’s a great way to spend time and learn together. I personally never played an instrument, besides the recorder in grade 4 and the flute in grade 7 band.
I remember watching French dubbed tv shows in high school because my teacher told me it’s an effective way to learn. While I would just end up reading the English subtitles, I did pick up phrases and repetitive words- it was a fun way to learn about the culture as well. I would also recommend listening to Japanese podcasts for beginners on Spotify!

Learning new things is always a good idea, and especially something artistic. I’m someone who appreciates the art of music, it’s so cool seeing the process and I think that you producing your own beats is amazing. Over the break, I tried getting into painting, but I found it hard to come up with my own ideas. Just like you, I found it helpful to find inspiration through other artists. I started off with Bob Ross paintings as they always end up looking decent, and then I slowly switched to copying pieces that I found online. This helped me understand my style and how mixing colours work. Overall, amazing post and I hope you publically produce your music in the future, I would love to hear it!
